Aiden sits in the dark behind a blank cinder block wall. The sounds of people can be heard passing by, sometimes knocking on the wall. But nobody stays long enough to hear Aiden through the wall. Until a stranger finds a way to talk with him: notes shoved back and forth through a vent.

Behind a Wall is an FMV (full motion video) game that explores the feelings of loneliness and the struggle to truly connect with other human beings that is inherent in the nature of communication. This is my Spring 2022 undergraduate thesis project under the facilitation of professor Ben Bays in the Radio-Television-Film program at the University of Texas.

The semester has ended and the thesis is considered complete, but I plan to release future updates to fix known bugs and improve the overall look of the piece. I know I can make this better. After a break and a lot of sleep, I'll come back.

More info and content will be added to this page as things progress.

BUG NOTES: There is currently an input-related bug that allows the player to skip video segments by pressing a key or clicking the mouse, which can result in the player missing key story elements. A bug fix is coming, but for now please refrain from touching the mouse or keyboard unless there is a dialogue choice on the screen. Thanks for your patience!
